BORDER’D partners with OTV

In August 2018, the cameras rolled on the pilot episode of a new Latinx web series from Diginamic Productions (Adrian & Andrew Nuño) and Lauryn Lugo entitled Border’d, in which Michelle worked with a small-but-mighty cast of talented co-stars. Diginamic is thrilled to have partnered with Open Television (OTV) in a streaming and development agreement for the remainder of the first season of the series, currently set to shoot in early 2020. Border’d centers around a trio of Hispanic siblings brought back to their hometown where they are forced to confront their ignored culture, past failures, and hidden secrets. Michelle plays their stern but loving mother Magdalena, who is portrayed both in flashback sequences as a young wife and mother, and decades later as a grieving widow.

INTO THE WOODS enjoys a successful run

Michelle and her fabulous cast enjoyed a terrific run of Music Theater Works’ beautiful production of INTO THE WOODS - and so did audiences! Read what critics had to say about Michelle’s performances as The Witch in Sondheim’s magical masterpiece:

“This large and extremely talented cast is led by the magnificent Michelle Jasso, who achieves a new personal level of excellence as the Witch. Alternately the bitchy diva and the sensitive parent, Ms. Jasso’s sophisticated style and comic talent are complimented by a lush voice that caresses Sondheim’s difficult music with aplomb. Especially beautiful are her soul searching, “Last Midnight,” and “Stay with Me,” a mother/daughter duet sung with Rapunzel, nicely played by Sarah Wasserman.“ ~ Colin Douglas, Chicago Theatre Review

“Of course, there is The Witch (an incredible  job by Michelle Jasso, taking on a role that was made famous by non other than Bernadette Peters and making [the role] her own)” ~Alan Bresloff, Around the Town Chicago
